The Mustard Seed
At The Mustard Seed, we help meet the basic needs of shelter, food, clothing and acceptance for men and women experiencing poverty, and work with them to find sustainable housing and employment. We are building community, growing hope and supporting change.
Our Employment Centre was established to challenge the stereotypes and stigmas of homelessness and assist individuals in making lasting change. Working one on one with clients, our fully mobile team of Employment Coaches provide support to those currently experiencing poverty and/or homelessness, working to diminish barriers to employment and facilitate job placement. The Seed Academy is a new part of The Mustard Seed’s Employment Program. The five-day workshop, with four hours of sessions each day, aims to equip clients with the needed skills to be job ready. Support is provided to both employer and employee during the transition into new work situations.
As an Industry Leader, The Mustard Seed’s Employment Centre takes a client-focused approach. Underlying our success is our strong belief that all individuals, homeless or not, have strengths and skills to bring to the workplace. Through partnering with the community, we’re building futures. And for the many individuals facing barriers to employment, it begins with planting a seed of hope.
