Alpha House

The Alpha House is a non-profit agency that provides a safe space for those whose lives are affected by alcohol and drug dependency. Through SORCe, the Alpha House offers program information referrals for intox shelter services, detox, DOAP Team transportation services and Encampment outreach services.

Programs available at SORCe

Shelter

The Alpha House shelter is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The shelter provides a safe space for those who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Clients can drop in at any time.

Detox

The Alpha House Detox Program provides for the safe withdrawal from drug and alcohol addiction.

Downtown Outreach Addictions Partnership

The Downtown Outreach Addictions Partnership (DOAP) is a collaborative team with The Alpha House, Calgary Police Service, Emergency Medical Services, Transit, Bylaw, and local hospitals. The team can transfer those who are under the influence of drug or alcohol to a place for addiction treatment and can provide access to shelter and basic needs such as food and clothing. DOAP also provides referrals for services such as addiction treatment, crisis counselling and other medical needs.

Encampment

The Alpha House Housing Program helps to find housing for individuals who experience addiction issues, chronic homelessness, or who frequently interact with emergency services. The program encourages responsibility, and allows clients to live independently with the support of the Alpha House.
